Dear Neighbor,

It is a privilege serving you as Mayor.

As a life-long Bellflower resident, I am a proud product of our community. I raised my family here and have operated a successful local business for many years.

As a dedicated public servant, I have focused on the issues important to you and made decisions consistent with the values of our community knowing they greatly impact the quality of our daily lives. Working for and investing in Bellflower is central to who I am and what I stand for.

While on Council we have accomplished many things…consistently balanced the city budget every year, revitalized our downtown community through responsible business development, attracted quality employment opportunities for our residents and re-established civic pride. We’ve made Bellflower a place to stay, play and invest in.

Humbly, I ask for your vote by November 8th so we can continue to move Bellflower forward.

Sincerely,

Ray

Accomplishments
We Can All Be Proud Of

  • Spearheaded completion of the Mayne Event Center/LA County Fire Museum & attracted Stand-Up Comedy Club and SteelCraft which have all become destination sites for locals and out-of-town visitors, created jobs and brought in increased revenue to the city

  • Alleviated the city’s parking problem brought on by the revitalization of Downtown Bellflower by building the new Downtown Parking Structure

  • Strongly advocated to fund the Bellflower Blvd & Artesia Blvd expansion/street widening project to bring much needed traffic congestion relief to our daily commuters at the city’s busiest intersection

  • Addressed city’s “unhoused” community by expanding services that offer options to get off the streets or deal with law enforcement

  • Relocated and renovated our weekly Farmer’s Market, increased the number of vendors and expanded its operating hours to meet the needs of our residents

Ray Will Stay Focused
on the Issues Important to Us

  • Public Safety: Allocate a portion of city budget surplus to increase sheriff deputy presence in areas of need

  • Senior & Youth Services: Ensure proper oversight of new Senior/Youth Center at Simms Park and Butterfly Garden Park to provide much needed programs that enhance the lives of our most vulnerable residents

  • Economic Development/Civic Pride: Strengthen current Vacant Property Ordinance and Zoning Guidelines to further support our local merchants, eliminate blight, and prosecute illegal dumping more thoroughly

  • Affordable Housing: Complete Woodruff & Artesia Residential Housing Units, that includes on-site parking, to replace existing development that’s been vacant and an eye-sore for decades

  • Responsible Commercial Redevelopment: Work with existing owners of Bellflower & Cedar Property as they work through final permit approvals with the intent of revitalizing the entire city block
